Global Affairs was founded in 1998 and has grown to be a colourful, mostly handmade gift and lifestyle brand with the aim of colouring the world – with a rich collection made in an honest, fairtrade and sustainable way.
With a lot of love for colour, form & material – and a big dose of fantasy – our product designer creates the products for both our own Global Affairs collection and private label customers.

Global Affairs collection

Soft toys, (hair) accessories, party items, bamboo tableware and stationery: we produce a wide range of colourful musthaves. All our products have been designed by us with love in Amsterdam, the majority of our products are made by hand and they are produced in a fairtrade way.

We take inspiration from anything around us, close to home, far away, sometimes in our own grown up world, but mainly in the kids universe. Twice a year, we turn this inspiration into a cheerful and quirky collection.

During the design process we always think about ways to use better, more sustainable materials and techniques. We are continually on the lookout for more planet friendly solutions to use in our products and packaging. We’ve set ourselves a goal: we want Global Affairs to be a fully sustainable company by 2025.

You can find our collection all over the world – from small independent shops and concepts stores to malls and museums like Voorlinden, Singer Laren, Louisiana, TATE Britain/Modern, Musée Fondation Louis Vuitton, Centre Pompidou and MOMA.

 

Where are our products made?

We have been working with most of our suppliers since the very start. We are proud to maintain a good and transparent working relationship with them, always working with mutual respect.

We choose to work with small certified suppliers and visit them often to see the working process and meet the makers – this personal contact is very important to us and results in a valuable, respectful collaboration.

The thing we always keep in mind during production is maintaining respect for: people, planet & profit.
